This guide walks you through installing, activating, and configuring CP Staff on your WordPress site.
Prerequisites
- WordPress 5.0 or higher
- PHP 7.2 or higher
- An active CP Staff license from churchplugins.com
Installing the Plugin
- Download the CP Staff plugin ZIP file from your churchplugins.com account
- Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard
- Navigate to Plugins > Add New
- Click Upload Plugin and select the downloaded ZIP file
- Click Install Now
- Click Activate to enable the plugin
Activating Your License
- Navigate to Staff > Settings
- Click the License tab
- Enter your license key in the field provided
- Click Activate License
An active license enables automatic updates and access to support.
Initial Configuration
After activation, configure the basic settings:
- Navigate to Staff > Settings
- In the Staff tab:
- Set your preferred Singular Label (default: “Staff”) — for example, “Team Member” or “Pastor”
- Set your preferred Plural Label (default: “Staff”) — for example, “Our Team” or “Leadership”
- Check Disable Archive Page if you prefer to use shortcodes on a custom page instead of the automatic archive
- In the Advanced tab:
- Set the Staff click action to control what happens when visitors click a staff card
- Enable Staff contact modal if you want visitors to email staff through the site
- Click Save Changes
Verifying Installation
- Navigate to Staff > Add New and confirm you see the staff editor
- Visit your site’s staff archive page (typically at
yoursite.com/staff/) to confirm the page loads - If you changed the plural label, the archive URL updates to match (e.g.,
yoursite.com/our-team/)
